Our Special Events are Special:
There's always something interesting happening on the schooner Summer Wind. We're always looking for new things to do in Philly and we'll let you know about them right here.
Pirate Week is your chance to go a little nuts! Join us for Pirate Sails every day during Pirate Week in the Fall from October 6th through October 12th. Watch the Third Annual Pirate Battle on the river featuring eight ships, including the Summer Wind. This will be the largest one ever! We're more maneuverable than the bigger ships, so the advantage in close quarters is ours!
Old City Seaport Festival
Join the crew of the Summer Wind as we welcome a whole fleet of tall ships to Philadelphia as part of the Old City Seaport Festival at the Independence Seaport Museum October 11-13. The museum will be selling tickets for river tours aboard many of the other ships. Join us onboard for the Annual Pirate Battle on the river. This year we'll feature eight tall ships fighting it out, including Kalmar Nyckel, AJ Meerwald, Gazela, Pride of Baltimore II, Virginia, Mystic Waler and Hindu. There will be boats from The Antique and Classic Boat Society and from the Traditional Small Craft Association. Come see the largest collection of traditional boats ever seen in Philadelphia. You can get tickets and come along for the action! Contact the Independence Seaport Museum for more details.
Everybody loves fireworks and to see them from the river is something special. The Fourth of July celebration in Philadelphia lasts several days. The fireworks on the 4th are on the Ben Franklin Parkway near the Art Museum. Fireworks on the river will be Saturday July 6th this year. Over the Summer there will also be fireworks at Penn's Landing every Friday night from July 27th through August 31st.

The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race
We've really enjoyed our time in the biggest schooner race in the U.S. Unfortunately, we won't be able to participate in this year's race. We're looking forward to returning for the race next year during the 25th anniversary. It'll really be big!
Holiday Parade of Lights
It's a long way from December but it's never too early to start planning for the holidays. Last December the Independence Seaport Museum renewed an old tradition in Philadelphia, the Annual Parade of Lights on the Delaware River. About 20 boats participated last year, including the Summer Wind and we'll be back next year too!
Where To Find Us:
All of our tours now run from the Independence Seaport Museum at Penn's Landing.
We're at the Seaport Museum dock in the Penn's Landing basin. The address is 211 South Columbus Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19106. It's a great way to experience more that Philadelphia has to offer! Watch your step and welcome aboard!
